Book: ‘Baseball’ by George Vecsey

Bookface 1 - Baseball

George Vecsey’s ‘Baseball’ is a concise, entertaining, personal, and well-written history of the greatest game ever invented. At 222 pages it’s really just an overview, but it’s a damn interesting one. He covers everything from the origins to the negro leagues to the steroid scandals. He eloquently inserts stories from his own life and experiences with baseball, making it much more than just a dry history lesson. It’s a fun read, I highly recommend this book for any baseball fan or really anyone interested in a streamlined history of America’s favorite game.
