For the first time ever our October Horrorfest has actually resulted in 31 movies being watched. Holy crap. Of course, it helps that we expanded our selection to include “thrillers,” which allows for a bit more variety and less gore fatigue. The result was a fun month with a few new favorites to be added to the rotation going forward.
Having seen this wonderful band three times already, I had no plans to attend their latest show in Boulder. However, when a new acquaintance uttered the words “We should go!” at lunch one day, I couldn’t say no to introducing a new person to the magical experience of seeing A Silent Film live. Said person did not actually end up going to the show, but I did, and I brought a friend who was a fan but hadn’t seen them in person.
I’ve heard a lot of hoopla about the live shows put on by Walk the Moon, and I was very much looking forward to this concert. Throw The Mowgli’s and Smallpools into the mix and holy hell what a lineup. Both openers were fantastic and did a great job pumping up the crowd with their charismatic and joyful sets. So much so in my case that I couldn’t help but be disappointed once Walk the Moon took the stage.
